Gas disaster has long been one of the major threats to safe production of coal mines inChina. Deeply develop the special campaigns as the key of gas prevention and the activity ofincreasing gas drainage, which is one of long-term effective methods to the mine gasprevention and control in China. In view of the workface safe condition affected by gob gas,in all kinds of gas drainage, high drainage roadway has the advantage of long-time, largerradius of drainage and effect significant. Therefore, researching systematically and optimizingthe configuration parameters of high drainage roadway with drainage from gob area cangreatly improve the efficiency of gas drainage.On the basis of comprehensive analysis for the movement of overlying strata, pressuredistribution of workface, collapse morphology of high drainage roadway and ventilationsubsystem that affect air leakage in the gob, the paper uses the numerical simulation methodand applied the computational fluid dynamics software FLUENT to simulate the laws of thegob gas concentration field distribution and migration. Taking the40108fully-mechanizedcaving face of Dafosi mine in the Shaanxi Binchang mining group as the example, combiningwith the actual situation and according to the features of three zones and O shape circledistribution of overlying strata, the paper studies the drainage efficiency under the differenthorizontal and vertical distances of high drainage roadway, the relation between the gasemission and air distribution quantity on fully-mechanized caving face, the gas drainageefficiency under the parameters with different air volume (speed) of intake airflow roadwayand different ratio of drainage. Carried out the in-situ observation research about the collapseinstances and characteristics of high drainage roadway, which was as a reference, researchedthe variation law about the gas flow rate, gas concentration of high drainage roadway under the condition of different integrity parameters. Furthermore, analyzes the safe situation aboutgas in workface and upper corner.Aiming at complexity of fluid flow field, gas concentration field and the environment ofthe stope, this paper adopts the software FLUENT to simulate and study on airflow field andgas concentration in the gob area and working face, which supplies a effective method andmean to optimize the gas drainage system of high drainage roadway and also has a great valueto prevent mine gas disasters by using high drainage roadway.
