Gasbag polishing technique is a method of ultra precision machining of largeoptical components, effectively providing the optical surface element. Because of thecomplexity of spindle movement in gasbag polishing process, so combining ParallelKinematics Machine with the gasbag polishing technique, introducing the full softwareCNC system and finish the overall control. View the gasbag polishing ParallelKinematics Machine’ functional requirements, finishing the subject development theOpen CNC.This paper introduces the development and research status of gasbag polishingtechnology, the advantage and development of open CNC system, and the developmentof the Parallel Kinematics Machine.This paper discusses the working principle of the gasbag polishing, including theprecession principle and contact area’ forming principle, analyzing technicalrequirement of gasbag polishing. According to the characteristics of the functionalrequirements of polishing technology and parallel mechanism, analyzing the wholefunction of Open CNC system, studying the hardware structure and software structureof system.According to the technological requirements of gasbag polishing and the gasbagpolishing’ precession principle, finishing the overall planning of the gasbag polishingprocess module, including the development of MATLAB program and graphicalinterface program. And developing HMI module of PA system, modify the hardkey, addsoftkey, realized the hard keys and soft to call the gasbag polishing process interface.According to the requirements of the gasbag polishing process, the gasbag polishingprocess interface is divided into surface modeling’ choice, polishing track’ selection,track size position’ adjustment, tool radius and sink age’ selection, auxiliary parameter,polishing attitude’ selection and call the MATLAB program. According to therequirements of each subdivision module, completed the development of MATLABprogram and graphical interface procedures, achieving data exchange, generate NC code,complete the development of gasbag polishing process interface.This paper layout the HMI, and add the real axis display module. Write the motioncontrol algorithm base on parallel mechanism, realized the axis reference point and virtual axis conversion function. Embedded the algorithm to Open CNC throughCompile Cycle.Finally, debugging the electrical control system of the gasbag polishing parallelmachine, adding auxiliary function, developing the PLC module, debugging the wholecontrol system, completed the development of the whole CNC system.
