Micro-nano structure ZnO microspheres that consist of nano ZnO crystals has arelatively large surface area and good optical properties, which have drawn muchattention in dye-sensitized solar cells, gas sensors, photocatalysis and other areas. Inthis paper, we study study the influence of process parameters on microspheremorphology, structure and particle size distribution to achieve controllable synthesisof ZnO microspheres, based on controllable synthesis of micro-nano structure ZnOmicrospheres we study the impact of irradiation and heat treatment on the opticalproperties of ZnO microspheres.By using solvothermal method and diethylene glycol, zinc acetate dihydrate asa starting material successfully synthesized micro-nano structure ZnO microspheres. The results reveal that the optimal process of synthesis ZnO microsphere is: theconcentration of zinc acetate dihydrate0.1mol/L, the reaction temperature isbetween160℃-180.℃This process results in micro-nano structure ZnOmicrosphere with good spherical mophology and reasonable particle distribution.Improving the heat treatment temperature and time will change microspheremorphology, after heat treatment nano ZnO particles of ZnO microspheres fusedand grown up into bigger size.Heat treatment induced defects in ZnO and carbonization of organic materials, which resulting in reflectance decreasing, absorption edge red shifting. The optical properties of ZnO microspheres seriously degradating after protonirradiation. Proton irradiation cause part VO"turn into VO’which make the VO’concentration increased. The optical properties degradation in the visible region ofZnO is due to electrons transitions from the valence band to the VO’.
