The ordered mesoporous carbon materials fabricated through soft template method display amorphousand poor conductivity, which limit their industrial application in fuel cells. In this thesis, cobalt andnickel species were incorporated into the carbon matrix for catalyzing graphitization of carbonframeworks, leading to better electron conductivity. At the same time, we doped nonmetal heteroatomssuch as nitrogen, boron in to the carbon structure for functionalizing carbon materials and modulatingtheir electronic properties. The main achievements are listed as below:1、N-doped ordered mesoporous carbon-Co composites (Co-N-OMC) were successfully fabricatedthrough soft-template method. XPS and TEM analysis revealed that nitrogen was successfullyincorporated in ordered mesoporous carbon structure and existed in the form of pyridine-like andquaternary-N nitrogen atoms. Co2+was completely reduced to metallic state with face-centered cubicstructure through carbonthermal reduction. The metallic cobalt particles with a diameter around10nmsitu catalyzed carbon graphitization and surrounded by layered graphitic sheets. In addition, Pt catalystssupported on Co-N-OMC showed an enhanced electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation andoxygen reduction reaction, probably contributes to the expanded texture, better graphitization degree ofcarbon support, high Pt-loading efficiency and uniform Pt distribution2、We improved the contend of nitrogen up to10wt.%and found out that carbon matrix still keptordered structure. However, the pore size of carbon was reduced. Furthermore, temperature playedan important role in the structure and property of carbon matrix. When the heat treatment was up to900℃, the size of cobalt growed and finally destroyed the ordered porous structure.3、In order to get a high graphitic ordered mesoporous carbon composites, we employedresurcinolformaldehyde resin as the carbon source, adding nickel chloride and urea as modifiers. Theresults showed that the Ni was widely existed in the carbon matrix with a diameter of50nm and situcatalyzed graphitization of amorphous carbon. XPS analysis revealed that nitrogen was incorporatedin carbon structure and existed in the form of pyrrole, pyridine-like and quaternary nitrogen atoms.The peak current density for methanol oxidation was as high as301.42mA cm-2.4、B-doped ordered mesoporous carbon-Ni composites were successfully fabricated throughsoft-template method. Thus, in the section, we applied nickel and boron as the modifier andinvestigated their synergetic modulation effect for carbon matrix. XPS analysis revealed that boronwas incorporated in carbon and existed in the form of B-C and B-O. Carbon could maintain orderedstructure as long as keeping boron content below8wt.%. Pt catalysts supported on this kind ofcarbon composites showed an enhanced electrocatalytic activity for methanol oxidation and oxygen reduction reaction.
