With the continuous expansion of China’s higher education, increased of universitynew campus, the sewage is increasing rapidly. But the most new university campus arebuilt in suburbs or urban fringe, that were not effective covered by municipal pipenetwork, the sewage must be implemented in national standards by self-builttreatment facilities, so as not to cause serious pollution to the surrounding environment.Campus sewage have water fluctuations and other characteristics, when the inletwater is not constant, SBR system was difficult to operated (unless have regulation pool)in constant level of water; For the campus sewage cyclical impact water quality, SBRsystem cannot ensure that the sewage meet the standards, and even affect the settlingperformance of sludge. Therefore should focus on the characteristics of campus sewageof optimal control conditions, such as changing the operation cycle or run level of water. At present, the study about the SBR variable cycle, variable water level operation waslacked. This paper was researched removal features of COD, phosphate, ammonia nitrogen, total nitrogen, SS under the change SBR mode, that was provided a technical basis forthe high efficiency treatment of campus sewage. The test result show that: when the inlet water was125L,100L,80L,60L,50L, thesystem has no effect on the removal of COD, ammonia nitrogen, phosphate, theconcentration of effluent water is lower than the A standard of "urban sewage treatmentplant pollutant discharge standard"(GB18918-2002); but has the greater impact on thetotal nitrogen, when the inlet water is100L,80L, the removal rate of total nitrogen ishigh, can meet the A standard. Compared with the operation mode of a single constant cycle, in addition to operate a cycle idle three cycle for nitrogen that have influence onremoval of nitrogen, other operation mode have no effluent on effect of nitrogenphosphorus, the removal rate of total nitrogen, ammonia nitrogen, phosphate in effluentwater were90.44%,88.75%,65.85%,88.16%, reached A standard of the nationalGB18918-2002level.
