With the development of industrialisation, urbanization and the economic society,the pollution faced by the source water was worse. Water pollution in lake andreservoir was common, such as the algae bloom and seasonal deterioration of the waterquality. The water quality in Shibianyu Reservoir, which was the spare source water,was deteriorating and the water eutrophic level was higher. Thus, research on waterquality, budget on nutrition and analysis on the water lifting and aeration technologyfor improving water quality were executed in order to give decision-makers someuseful help in protecting and improving the source water quality.Combination field with laboratory monitoring from July,2011to December,2012,the water quality, water stratification, budget of nitrogen, phosphorus in ShibianyuReservoir were analysed. And main conclusions are as follows:(1) Shibianyu Reservoir is stratified. The end of March to the mid-May is thefoundation period of thermal stratification, the end of May to September is the stablestratification period. While influenced by large amount of input water, the differencebetween surface and bottom in water temperature is minished gradually in Septemberand October, thus this period was called weak stratification period. November toMarch in the next year is mixing period.(2) The parameter such as Dissolved oxygen, conductivity, TN, TP is obvious inseasonal change in vertical distribution. And the contnet of TN, TP, CODMninShibianyu Reservoir displayed seasonal changes too. The contents of TN, TP andCODMnof water in abundant water period were higher than them in low water period. While total alkalinity in abundant water period was lower than them in low waterperiod.(3) The composition of TN is not changed with the seasonal change, while thecomposition of TP is obvious in seasonal change.(4) For Shibianyu Reservoir, The yearly input of TN and TP from input water islargest, input from land runoff is next to the largest, other is reservoir sediments andatmospheric deposition. Net accumulation of TN and TP in the sediment was20.2t and0.8t, respectively.(5) Water-lifting aerator used in Shibianyu Reservoir could effectively control theformation of water stratification and accelerate the water mixing, meanwhile, enhancethe DO in the bottom water.The release of TP, ammonia nitrogen, Fe andMn(Mnmanganese) was decreased. It could boost the oxidation speed of organism.
