Due to UV-curable adhesive contains lots of advantages,such as fast curing andgood transparency,which is widely used in the bonding between the transparentmaterials in recent years. The purpose of this paper is to synthesize a kind of uv-curableadhesive, which has good adhesive ability with inorganic glass and polycarbonatematerial.According to the actual application conditions these characteristics stick out in theadhesive layer:heat resistance,good flexibility,good adhesive ability with glass andpolycarbonate, good transparence. So acrylate was selected as main copolymerizationmonomer in this paper. Polyacrylate (PA) prepolymer was synthesized with methylmethacrylat (MMA), n-butyl acrylate(BA)and hydroxy-propyl acrylate(HPA).The suitable conditions was studied in this thesis,too. In this way, the tensile-shearstrength of adhesive to the base material can reach to11.41Mpa. The structure wasverified by FT-IR. The results showed that double bonds disappear and the adhesivesolidify completely.Based on the experiments,weaknesses of the adhesive layer werefound,such as high volume shrinkage,fragile,bad chemicals resistance.As PA had weaknesses,we chose polyurethane (PU) to make the adhesive better.PUA prepolymer was synthesized with toluene diisocynate (TDI), hydroxyethyl acrylate(HEA), polyethylene glycol (PEG) in solvent. This paper studied the synthetic reactionconditions and got the best technological conditions in the end: adding0.05wt%inhibitor,0.1wt%catalyst, remaining the temperature of50℃during the first stepreaction for3hours, the temperature of60℃during the second step reaction for4hourswith the-NCO content of no more than1wt%at the end of the reaction. FTIR wereused to characterize the structure of the prepolymer. The results showed that the productmet the expected performances.According to analysis of PUA film,we got optimization formula as follow: PUAresin50wt%,TPGDA25wt%, BA10wt%,MMA10wt%,AA5wt%,benzoin ethyl ether2wt%,11731wt%,WD-703wt%、DOP3wt%.The result of the Uv-curable experiment:the cure time of22s, tensile shear-strength of adhesive can reach14.51MPa.Polyurethane acrylate (PUA) combines advantages of polyurethane (PU) and polya -crylate (PA). This PUA adhesive has many very good characters such as good opticalperformance, high adhesion, photo curing rapidly, low volume shrinkage, goodchemicals resistance.
