To comprehensively understand the pollution of inhalable particles in Baoding city, themain air pollution sources in Baoding were studied. At the same time, Monitoring data ofPM10and PM2.5appeared in Baoding city from January,2013to February,2013at six sitesand meteorological data were collected. Based on these, the status of pollution, the temporaland spatial distribution characteristics and the pollution characteristics of particulate matter inBaoding city was analyzed. In the meantime, the effects of sources and weather conditions onparticulate matter were expounded.There were several findings in this study. Firstly, the annual average concentrations ofPM10and PM2.5in Baoding were217μg/m3and127μg/m3, which respectively are3.1timesand3.6times than the secondary standard of 《Ambient air quality standard》(GB3095-2012).Secondly, the inhalable particles concentration level is the highest in winter, then the comingspring and autumn and the lowest in summer. The particulate matter pollution was the mostserious in January and the lightest in July within one year. Thirdly, the spatial distribution ofPM10is as follows: The Second Schoolyard of NCEPU> Photographic Film Plant> SurfaceWater Treatment Plant> Reception Centre> City Monitoring Station> City Natatorium. Thespatial distribution of PM2.5is as follows: Surface Water Treatment Plant> PhotographicFilm Plant> City Monitoring Station> Reception Centre> The Second Schoolyard ofNCEPU> City Natatorium. Fourthly, the ratio of PM2.5and PM10is between20.3%and80.6%, average56.8%, the proportion of fine particulate matter in PM10is greater than thecoarse particles, it brings worse harms to human health. Fifthly, well linear relationship isfound between PM10and PM2.5, and the relative coefficient is0.9524. Sixthly, industrialpollution was mainly distributed in south town and the new urban, which caused the highestPM2.5concentration appeared in Surface Water Treatment Plant; Coal-fired boiler pollutionwas centrally distributed in downtown area, it was the major cause of the high PM10andPM2.5concentration in City Monitoring Station in winter; Dust pollution was distributedhighly surrounding the Second Schoolyard of NCEPU, it caused the highest PM10 concentration. There was a large of Motor vehicle in Baoding, Motor vehicle exhaustpollution to the atmospheric particulate matter pollution makes the diurnal variation ofpollution bimodal type. Seventhly, PM10and PM2.5has negative correlation with rainfall.Particulate matter can be swept by Rain effectively. The wind could diffuse particulate matterwhen the wind speed exceeds2.0m/s, however, it will cause fugitive dust pollution when thewind speed exceeds5m/s. The highest concentration of PM10and PM2.5appeared in daysblowing east wind, the lowest concentration of PM10and PM2.5appeared in days blowingwest wind.
