Capacitance energy storage seam welding which is widely used in sheet metal welding is a highly efficient welding method. With the improvement of industrial manufacturing and production automation, modern industry has higher requirements to seam welding quality and control technology. The main power switch components of traditional capacitance energy storage welding machine were ignition tubes, and the control system consisted of complex discrete components, which could not satisfy the needs of modern industry because of its low control precision and poor performance stability. The control system of capacitance energy storage seam welding studied in this article is designed with AT89C52micro computer as a core and silicon controlled rectifiers as the main power switch components. The silicon controlled rectifiers are controlled by the firing pulses produced by using timing and interruption functions of micro computer, the purpose is to control the capacitors charging and discharging. The solenoid valve and DC motor of mechanical parts are driven by solid state relay. E2PROM is used to save welding parameters, which is able to maintain data storage without power. The keyboard (digital key and the function key) is duiven by ZLG7290which is the I2C bus device, LED lights and LCD1602liquid crystal display constitute a humanized human-computer interaction interface. The control program is designed with Keil μvision2.0, which realized data setting, display and storage of the welding parameters, charging-discharging cycles of capacitors, motion of the upper wheel electrode, operation of DC motor. The system is tested with51MINI simulator, which verified the feasibility of the system.
