The lubricant is a substance that adds to two relative moving surfaces can avoid orreduce friction and wear. It is not only able to reduce the friction pair、retard themechanical damage,but also can cooling、cleaning and pollution prevention thefriction pair. It has a very wide range of applications in the sectors of nationaleconomies and it is indispensable to the operation of any mechanical. The lubricantoften influx the environment when it is widely used, caused serious soil and waterpollution, destruct the ecological environment and ecological balance. So, searchingfor a good performance and less pollution lubricant is particularly urgent.The content of this paper is divided into the following three parts:Part I: Synthesis of ester-based lubricant and optimize the synthesis conditions.First of all, according to the literature research that about synthesising ester-basedlubricant and select an appropriate option. Then, optimize the synthesis conditionswhich we selected. According to the experimental results we got the best experimentalconditions: when the reaction under the protection of nitrogen, the reactiontemperature is150°C~160°C, the reaction time is about5h, the amount ofcatalyst is about0.6%~0.8%and the molar ratio of acid and hydroxyl is1.05:1canget better products in the color, yield etc.Part II: We use the product that had been handling to measure its performance,then according to the measurement data to constantly adjust and improve the synthesisconditions and post-processing method of the preceding, according to the NationalInstitute of Standards measured indicators including acid value, hydroxyl value andsaponification value.At the last,get the product that have a ideal data to measure itslubricating performance. We synthesized39compounds and measured tribologicalperformance of21compounds. This paper listed the acid value and hydroxyl value of9compounds.Part III: We use the method of neural network and the topology parameters tobuild the model of tribological QSAR. The literature review show that the study ontribological structure-activity relationships with this method rarely reported. Thevalue of cross-validation squared correlation coefficient(q2) that the model of scardiameter and friction coefficient is0.74and0.78respectively,and theirnon-cross-validation squared correlation coefficient(r2) is0.90and0.96respectively,both of them are much higher than the requirements(>0.5).These show the model hasgood predictive ability.At the same time, we analyzed the relationship between thetribological properties and the molecular structure, and found that there is a significant correlation between them.We will introduced the method of QSAR to thefield of tribology and built the model of QSAR successfully, provides a new way ofthinking to design of a new type of lubricant for the future.
