Gypsum whisker is an excellent, inexpensive mineral fibers. Apply it into the paperindustry can save plant fiber resources and reduce environmental pollution; while thepartial substitution of mineral fiber plant fiber, will help develop new features paperproducts, new uses and new areas, but also for the use of mineral resources provides anew way.In this thesis, gypsum whisker reasonable process conditions for making paper.Species, including pulp, freeness of the impact to be filled gypsum whisker paper;surface sizing treatment to be filled sheet of gypsum whisker; improve retention andmodified gypsum plaster whisker whiskers in the paper sheet. Gypsum whisker in thepaper industry to make a more comprehensive analysis applications.By experiment: adding gypsum whiskers into pulp and paper tensile, tearresistance, breaking strength index were decreased, an appropriate increase the pulpfreeness has a certain improvement for adding gypsum whisker of paper’s strength,compared to add40%gypsum whisker sample and the sample is not added, with theimprovement of pulp freeness, paper tensile strength index increased gradually decline,that the adverse effects of gypsum with whiskers improve freeness and more obvious;gypsum whisker lower retention rate, and the solubility of gypsum whiskers have somerelevant and improve the amount of gypsum added whiskers, gypsum whisker retentionrate has increased, but the loss is more serious, considering the reasonable papermakingprocess conditions: softwood pulp is controlled at beating30°SR~35°SR,40%ofthe amount of whiskers added; and fill in the sheet of gypsum whisker strengthperformance has a certain degree of decline, can increase its strength by using themethod of surface sizing, sizing agent is preferably present in the experiment for CS andCMC, the sizing concentration were2%,3%, by the sizing treatment, its tensile indexincrease is approximately10N·m·g-1; using CS, CPAM, CP3retention and drainagesystems were used in an amount of1.5%,0.04%,0.02%, the filler retention rate was53.67%, compared to the blank sample improved64.94%, its treatment time was79.3s.Gypsum whiskers can effectively improve retention while reducing treatment time toensure good retention and drainage effect.Gypsum whisker, for the purpose of improving retention and reduce its solubilityto increase its binding effect with plant fibers. Under the experimental conditions,sodium carboxymethyl cellulose(CMC) and sodium starch phosphate are goodmodifiers, the dosage of modifier (relative gypsum whisher) was8%. Relative to theadd unmodified whisker, add with carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) modified gypsumwhisker as the tensile index of paper and ash content increased by17.41%and11.17%,add with sodium starch phosphate modified gypsum whisker as the tensile index ofpaper and ash content increased by14.59%and23.65%respectively.
