People are pursuing the more comfortable fabric, the elastic fiber becomes more andmore popular in chemical fiber industry. The application fields are not only the traditionalareas such as socks, underwear,and areincluding the high elastic casual wear andwrinkle-resistant shirts. Now it has a more proper future in the car decoration and medical andhealth, and other fields.This paper adopts a mean that is mixing different material together to realize morefunction and more kinds of elastic fiber. And the irradiation crosslinking technology isintroduced into the fiber process, realizing the stability of fiber performance successfully.Polyolefin fiber is one of the best fibers in the world for its performance. This studymixed the different kinds of polyolefin and silicone rubber together. Measure the melt indexand the vicat softening point of the mixed pelts. Took the more reasonable proportion of rawmaterial components, and optimized the processing technology of double screw extruder. Thespeed double screw extruder was15r/min, four zone temperature were setting as120℃,180℃,210℃and230℃. By discussing the spinning processing parameters, spinningtemperature should be about220℃and the other four zone temperature were setting as135℃,223℃,235℃,240℃. The spinning speed was300-400m/min. Have modified thefeed screw and godet roller parts.This paper has analyzed the theory of irradiation crosslinking. And the irradiationcrosslinking processing technology was exploredinto the textile fiber processing successfully.Though the FTIR, XRD, DSC and crosslinking degree test, the characteristics ofpolyolefin/silicone rubber composite elastic fiber which treated by irradiation treatment wereanalyzed. Mechanical properties of fiber were better as the irradiation dose increases in acertain scope. Elastic properties and tensile properties of fiber were also increase. Theappropriate irradiation dose is200kGy.This study has made a preparation of a variety of elastic fiber. The apparent morphologystrength, elasticity, creep properties, heat resistance, light resistance and washing resistancewere analyzed in the test. The polyolefin/silicone rubber composite elastic fiber elasticrecovery rate can reach more than97%. The fiber has variety of performance such as acid and alkali resistance, resistance to chlorine bleaching and light and good heat resistance.
