In modern society the problem of energy is more remarkable. With the growing consumption of renewable energy,in the long term,if people don’t have new energy to replace traditional energy it is very difficult to achieve sustainable development.Solar energy for human brings hope. The energy for sun released is continuously and very huge, without any damage to the environment. In recent years the development and utilization of solar energy have drawn scientist’s attention. All kinds of solar cell devices have sprung up constantly. Solar cell devices with many advantages such as safety and environmental protection, non-toxic, flexible in application can meet the needs of different people. The direct band gap and indirect band gap of SnS are respectively estimated to be1.2~1.5eV and1.0~1.1eV, which are close to ideal forbidden band width for solar cells. At first, this paper generally introduces the study status of tin sulphide film, Secondly introduces the new tin sulphide film surface morphology and optical properties. It is reported the SnS micro rods films were prepared by constant potential catholic electro-deposition method and annealed at200℃under vacuum conditions for1h. The structure and morphology analysis showed the films were composed of micro-sized rods. The length of the rods was in a range of2-5micro and constituted a mesh structure while preferentially orienting along the (101) plane. Raman spectra indicated that the micro rods films had a high purity and observed4cm-1red-shift, which may be caused by tensile stress.
