Synthesis of amide plays an important role in the organic chemist and amide canbe used in biology, pharmaceutical industry and materials science. Scientists havedone a lot of research about amidation. Now, this paper expounds a new homogeneouscatalysis that amide synthesis from alcohol and amine over the metalloporphyrincatalyst with tertiary butyl peroxide in mild reaction. Well, the main content of thispaper are as follows:Firstly, we reviewed a series of amide synthesis which have been known, and thesignificance and importance of amide was also told.Secondly, in this paper, a new method that metal porphyrin catalyzed the amidesfrom aromatic alcohols with amine under the TBHP as oxidat was studied. By theexperiments we found that amide could get from aromatic alcohols withsecondary-cycle amine, and aromatic alcohols would mainly generates iminecompounds with second and primary fat amine. The third amines and aromatic can’ttake react with alcohols.Thirdly, the paper established a catalytic oxidation system. Catalyst including ofCu/Mn/Fe/Co metal porphyrins and oxidant were all studied. In addition, weexamined the reaction results on the different reaction conditions such as temperature, solvent, time, raw material ratio by GC-MS and GC. At last, we got the optimumreaction condition of imidization: alcohol/amine/catalyst/oxidant=1mmol/1.2mmol/1.0×10-5mmol/3mL, in CH3CN solution reacted under80for10h with85a yield;meanwhile, we got the optimum reaction conditions of amidation: alcohol/amine/catalyst/oxidant=1mmol/1.2mmol/1.010-5mmol/5mL, in CH3CN solutionreacted under80for12h with69a yield. At last, we proposed the possible mechanism about the synthesis of amides andimines in this article.
