Volume grass Pattern one of the inseparable elements of Chinese culture, withits own artistic features and beautifulness, has essential reference value in ModernFashion Design. The inclusion of structure makes it able to change its adornmenttheme, advancing with The Times the volume grass grain has been widely usedthroughout the world.Women’s suit is a product of modern development, is also important inwomen’s life. In China women suit market is developing, and women suit design isincreasingly diversified developing. For women suit design to re-examine andthinking become inevitable. Combining women suits and the volume grass grain, cannot only understand the contacting of traditional culture and modern form ofexpression, but also can understand how women suit be designed.This thesis, compiled by my researches with the information collecting, andanalysis of the curling grass decorative pattern, is seeking for creative and innovativemethodologies to redefine the beauty of the Volume grass Pattern. Combination of theunderstanding of the creative technique of women suit design, we refine the volumegrass grain design elements and induct the key points of designing.The main theme of my thesis is to discuss about the possible approaches tocombine this traditional Chinese art element with modern fashion design. It describesthe historical development of the Volume grass Pattern and the reason why it has suchvitality. In addition, by elaborating the coloring, patterns and its manufacturing skills,the thesis is dedicated to bring this classical art form into aesthetic of ordinary peopleand therefore give this precious heritage a new look.
