At present, most underground metal mines in china are descending mining. In the process of descending mining, The upper rock mass failure happened firstly, and its scope of damage become biger with production phase getting down,it is easy to produce stress concentration and make the stope roof pressure increases, so that the control of stope stability becomes very difficult. Large area of land was expropriated by mines to build barren field and tailings, caused a lot of farmland occupied and the environment was destroyed. Descending mining need to leave a lot of top and bottom column, the recovery rate of resources is low. In view of this, put forward ascending mining sequence. In the research background of steep large and thick ore body of underground copper, the following several aspects of test and research work has been done.(1) By the research of home and abroad underground metal mines and coal mines’s ascending mining, the ascending mining scheme, ascending mining system and ascending mining safety of ascending mining sequence were studied.(2) Field geological investigation of mine, indoor test had been done,in view of the orebody mining technical conditions,puts forward four kinds of ascending mining scheme for this kind of ore body, introduced the mining scheme characteristics, stope preparation and stoping process in detail.(3) Based on the major mining scheme and ore body condition,put forward three kinds of development plan, the optimal development plan was optimized through the total construction investment and the annual operation cost. On that basis, From the aspects of economic and technical indicators, Got that the total development system investment of ascending mining and descending mining is the same,Ascending mining need more2.764million yuan in infrastructure investment than descending mining and mainly in the infrastructure of ventilating shaft.(4) On the base of development system, designed the ventilation system of ascending mining, And compared the ventilation resistance of ascending mining and descending mining in later recovery, got that the ascending mining ventilation resistance is smaller and ventilation effect is better. Calculated the water inflow of ascending mining mine, designed the drainage system, compared the drainage effect of ascending mining and descending mining and knew that ascending mining drainage effect is better.(5) Based on the arch theory of Fayol, and combined with material mechanics, roof deformation and damage mechanics mechanism of ascending mining and descending mining. Simulated the room and pillar method of ascending mining and descending mining by FLAC3D, analyzed the stress distribution and displacement distribution of mine roof panel, pillar and filling body respectively, and got its change law. Simulated stage mining sequence of ascending mining and descending mining, Analyzed the stress distribution and displacement distribution of surrounding rock and roof after excavation, got the interaction law of stage in two mining sequence and the relationship between stress and displacement change and the recovery steps.
