Water-based paints have a lot of excellence properties, such as state-of-the-art technology, clean technology, low energy consurnption, low emission, safe and non-toxic and so on. So it is has a very broad prospects for development. In this thesis, firstly, the Fe3O4nanoparticles coated on the surface of hollow glass beads and composite materials have been prepared. And composite materials as pigments and fillers added to the paints, ultimately obtain a both excellent corrosion resistance and good thermal insulation properties of the new water-based paints. Mainly for the following two aspects of the work:(1) Preparation Fe3O4/HGB composite:first remove impurities from the surface of HGB, then the surfactant, activation HGB was added to a solution of a certain concentration of total iron, an alkali solution was added dropwise, maintaining the stability of the pH value, by chemical co-precipitation method Fe3O4/HGB composite. Morphology and performance of the composites were characterized by SEM, EDS, FTIR, XRD and VSM.(2) Water-based paints formulation design and preparation:use Fe3O4/HGB composite pigments and fillers, waterborne polyacrylate as a film-for mixing resin, water as a dispersion medium, together with other additives and raw materials, mixing and dispersing water-based paints. Uniform paints film on the template, by saline water, adhesion and other basic performance test, the results confirmed that the paints prepared having excellent corrosion resistance, and good insulation performance, its salt aqueous reached20days and adhesion to1.
