When the reservoir of water drive into the late development stage, the distribution ofremaining oil reservoir with the water rate increases performance of the more complex. Therefore, the causes an accurate understanding of remaining oil reservoir in high water cutperiod, spatial distribution to grasp the features of remaining oil, has an importantsignificance for two times the development of reservoir. To this question about in high water cut oilfield has a lot of remaining oil, This papercombined some projects did postgraduate and other advanced research achievements.First ofall, from the angle of development factors and geological factors of remaining oil distirbution, analyzed the reason of high water cut reservior formation, the main factor is the artificialinjection water and edge-bottom water of reservoir. Secondly, from the microscopic aspectintroduces the mechanism and controlling factors of remaining oil formation of remainingoil.for example reservoir rock wettability, capillary force, pore structure and so on.Finally, three examples used the method of reservoir engineering and reservoir numerical simulationtechnology to illustrate the influence of fault, injection-production well pattern and reservoirheterogeneity on remaining oil distribution rule.
