Nanofliud contains suspended metallic or non-metallic nanopartcles in traditional fliud which is a new class of heat transfer filud. It has been presented that nanofliud possesses higher thermal conductivity than traditional base fluid. Adding nanofluid into heat pipe can enhance its transfer capabilities.In this paper, nanofliud were made by carbonnanoutubes and Cu nanopartcles into traditional base fluid, investigate their thermal properties,and then applicate them in heat pipe.This paper was designed to use nanofliud into heat transfer field, broad the application of nanotechnology and study the base question in the thermal engineering. Nanofluid plays an important role in promoting the development of heat transfer equipment with high performance. This paper mainly covers:1.The traditional base fluid and nanoparticles were mixed by different base fluid and controlling ph value directly. Nanofluid were made by different volume fraction using this two step methed.Suspension stability of nanofluid was characterized and analyzed using zeta potential,average properties size and absorbancy method.The properties of particle depends on the base fluid, has a close relationship with the interaction between the nanoparticles.2. Measured the heat conductivity coefficient of carbon nanotubes and nano-copper nano fluids under different temperatures and different portion. On this basis, studied the effect of volume fraction of nano particles,attributes classification and the temperature on the thermal conductivity. The experimental result shows that, adding nano particles into base fluid, could enhance the heat transfer performance. It also shows that for different properties of nano fluids, the degree of increasing amount is different,the base fluid nature,nano fluid temperature, particle volume fraction and other factors related to nanofluids thermal conductivity.3. Established the experimental facility for pulsating heat pipe transfer features, performed the experiment using the carbon nanotubes and nano-copper nano-nano-fluid as heat transfer fluid. The experimental result shows, the higher the pulsating heat pipe transfer coefficient of nano fluids as the working fluid, the lower thermal resistance, the shorter Start-up time.
