Copper-molybdenum separation is always a worldwide problem, so the selection of copper mineral inhibitor is very important. The thesis took copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate as the research object, and the technological mineralogy investigations and flotation condition experiments were all studied by the experiments, and it expected to find the most suitable copper mineral inhibitor by studying different copper mineral inhibitors via using comparison experiments. Then, on the basis of the optimal flotation conditions, the open circuit experiment was studied. Finally, the influence of backwater on flotation was investigated and the backwater experiments were made for practical production application.Technological mineralogy studies indicated that the principal metallic minerals of copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate were covellite, chalcopyrite, molybdenite, tennantite and pyrite, the main gangue minerals were quartz and muscovite. The degree of monomer separation accounted for over90%in copper-molybdenum mixed concentrate. The main intergrowths were gangue minerals intercrescence with molybdenum and copper ores. The grade of molybdenum was0.45%and the grade of copper was30.70%, the proportion of copper to molybdenum was68:1.To improve the effect of copper and molybdenum separation various factors have been studied through flotation condition experiments. The main results are as following:the technology of flotation was mineral dressing before grinding, pulp density was30%, Sodium Silicate consumption was1kg·t-1, kerosene consumption was0.lkg-t-1,2#oil consumption was0.lkg·t-1. Varieties of copper inhibitors have been studied through contrast experimentation. The new-style copper inhibitors and conventional copper inhibitors were analyzed and compared, and from a technical, economic, safe and environmental point of view, Sodium Sulfuret was selected for the inhibitor finally. The rough molybdenum concentrate that the grade of molybdenum was5.62%and the recovery of molybdenum was93.42%was obtained when the consumption of sodium sulfide was15kg·t-1. On the basis of the optimal flotation conditions, the open circuit experiment was studied, and the molybdenum concentrate of grade35.28%and recovery43.90%were obtained. The grade and recovery of copper concentrate were31.85%and90.88%. Both achieved the better index, a preliminary separation was realized and the prospective effect of separation was achieved.
