With the widely usage of micro hole in fields such as aerospace, precision machinery, automatic control, the quality requirements of micro hole are increasing. As a new processing method in micro hole processing, the technological effect of ultrasonic vibration drilling has been widely recognized.In this paper, the spindle system of ultrasonic vibration drilling machine is mainly studied. Starting from all the components of the spindle system, the ultrasonic generator、 transducer amplitude transformer、tool system and the connecting structure are designed respectively. As an important part of the whole structure, the structure of amplitude transformer is studied in details. Firstly, the traditional amplitude transformers are analyzed using the analytical method, and it shows their machining performances are not ideal. Then, a new amplitude transformer is designed and optimized using the finite element analysis method, and the new amplitude transformer can meet the processing requirements.Starting from energy consideration, the transfer law of energy is analyzed and the main factors that affect the energy transfer of ultrasonic vibration are obtained. Finally, ultrasonic vibration drilling experiment is done and effect of ultrasonic vibration machining process is verified.
