During plastic deformation, texture can be easily found in magnesium alloys because thealloy possesses the characteristic of hexagon close-packed crystal structure. Texture has asignificant effect on the mechanical properties of magnesium alloys.Firstly, this paper has studied the texture of extruded AZ31magnesium alloy and theinfluence of tensile and compress deformation on the texture. Results show that the extrudedtextures are typical (0002) basal texture. Tensile deformation leads to the basal textureweakening. Then the effect of texture on the anisotropy of AZ31magnesium alloy is studied. The resultsare that under the temperature of200℃, when specimen was deformed parallel to the extrudeddirection, the yield stress is only one third of that when compressed perpendicular to theextruded direction, and the maximum compression ratio is nine fourteenth of the latter. However, while deforming above250℃, the mechanical properties has little relationship with deformationmode. The experiment results has been deeply analyzed according to deformation mechanismand dislocation theory.Lastly, the influence of deformation mode and texture on dynamic recrystallization has beeninvestigated. The relationship between the shrinkage ratio of tensile specimen and the fraction ofdynamic recrystallization is builded. The influence of texture on dynamic recrystallization is alsostudied.
