Domestic titanium dioxide production mainly uses sulfuric acid production process.Based on the current literatures,The current production process exist low-skilled,low-quality,high-cost,high-pollution and other problem, thereby constraining the development of titaniumdioxide. In this paper,a titanium dioxide plant for the study. To solve the problem, use the meansof process optimization and equipment modification to fully tap the potential,to minimize thecost of titanium dioxide production. To lower the production cost, some equipments andprocessing parameters were optimized as follows. The consumptions of sulfuric acid andwater were reduced by return waste acid from water washing process to acidolysis process.Replaced leaf filters by membrane pressure ones and determined the optimum operatingparameters by experiments to increase the washing efficiency. The secondary washing waterwas used as spray water for offgas in calcinations process, and then returned to water washingprocess as primary washing water. The residual heat of offgas was more sufficiently utilized. The corresponding consumption of vapor was reduced. In comminution process, the airpressure of Raymond mill was changed from positive to negative, and the structure ofRaymond mill was transformed. The pressure conversion lowers the maintenance interval andcost of the mill, and reduces the dust pollution and the lose of powder. The rotary furnacesystem was rebuilt to increase combustion efficiency. Thus the consumption of coal gas wassharply reduced, while used the waste heat of the rotary furnace. The optimum measurements bring a total titanium dioxide production cost reduction of1345.8RMB/t. The comprehensive renovation promotes the technology progress of titaniumdioxide production in aspect of economic interest, energy saving and environmentalprotection.
