In recent years, porphyrin molecules has been widely concerned in biochemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, analytical chemistry, organic chemistry and photochemical catalytic material, because of the unique properties in physics and chemistry.Using unique electronic structure and photoelectric properties of porphyrin molecules, design and synthesis of photoelectric functional materials and devices has become a very active research field. Among them, the synthesis of porphyrin dimers and its oligomeric porphyrin, the application of its photophysical and photochemical properties has become an important part of porphyrin chemistry field.If only use porphyrin as red material, its fluorescence quantum yield is not high. So we usually used modified porphyrin with a special function to improve the luminescent properties of porphyrin. Diphenol is an electron rich aromatic compounds, if combined the diphenol and porphyrins together, the energy transduction may occur under the excitation light of a specific wavelength. After the energy of the modified group diphenol transferred to the porphyrin body, the luminescent properties of porphyrin may be improved. This article is based on this consideration, combined the porphyrin and diphenol base together.Design and synthesize the diphenol bridged porphyrin dimers in this paper and its spectrum is studied.1. Introduced porphyrin dimers and their metal compounds. Their research progress and synthesis methods were reviewed.2. Designed the synthetic route of diphenol bridged porphyrin complexes, discussed the synthesis method of diphenol bridged porphyrin complexes, and did some research on what impact the solvent and reaction time on the reaction. Finally, twelve kinds of new porphyrin compounds were synthesized successfully.3. After porphyrin compounds were synthesized successfully, we also did some research on spectral properties. And we compared spectra properties of the diphenol bridged porphyrin dimers and its metal complexes with the monomer, analysising the reason of the difference.
