China national tobacco monopoly bureau formally put the concept of "Chinese stylecigarette" in2003, asked the Chinese style cigarette development must grasp "high aroma,low tar, low harm" the development of the principle. The requirement of Chinese Cigaretteemphasizes high aroma which reflects adding flavor plays an important role of improving andstabilizing cigarettes quality, establishing cigarette style, setting up taste characteristics ofChinese Cigarette. Several technologies have been developed to add flavor, of which addingflavor adsorption into filter has become relatively active research topic in the world resentyears due to it assurance of flavor pure, controllability of flavor storage and release.In this paper, studying five kinds of active adsorption material including activatedcarbon(SY-1), molecular sieves (MCM-41, SBA-15), zeolite clay and aluminum in theapplication of mint cigarettes. This article from the material storage of menthol, releasequantity, retention and add position for experimental research.The amount storage, studying the characterization of the pore structure, obtain therelationship between material structure and the amount of menthol storage. The result showsthe storage relationship of five kinds of adsorption material: activated carbon (SY-1)>molecular sieves (MCM-41, SBA-15)>200mg/g> zeolite clay> aluminum. The adsorptionprocess of materials is mainly physical adsorption. The surface area of materials determinesthe amount of menthol storage. Modified the active materials to change their surface acidity,The results show that the menthol storage of ammonia modified zeolite clay has beenimproved20%, the storage is from169mg/g to205mg/g.Retention of menthol, the amount of menthol in material, filter and mainstream smokewere determined by smoking cigarette added adsorption material. The result shows theamount of release: aluminum> zeolite clay>70%> molecular sieves (MCM-41, SBA-15)>activated carbon (SY-1). The content of menthol is the highest in flue gas by using the zeoliteclay material. Adding material has little impact on nicotine, tar and CO in cigarette. we makeGlucose masking carbide hole modification on molecular sieve material. The results show thatfor MCM-41and SBA-15modified have a certain effect, increase the release of menthol from65%to75%. Retention of menthol, This paper also studied five kinds of material were placed in asealed condition five months, the results show that after five months the material mentholstorage capacity compared with the initial state is much higher than70%. While the materialis placed at22℃under the open conditions, The results show that after twenty-four hoursthe material menthol storage capacity compared with the initial state is much higher than90%.Add position, adding zeolite clay which release performance is better material indifferent location of the filter, shows that different location of the filter has a great influenceon the release and filter rejection. When zeolite clay is in30mm form front filter, filterintercept35%and release rate75%. When zeolite clay is in5mm form front filter, filterintercept11%and release rate58%. Material in filter location has little effect on the contentof menthol in the mainstream smoke. Each cigarette is added5to20mg zeolite clay material,its menthol reach0.25to0.74mg in mainstream smoke. It is higher than that of the currentdomestic menthol menthol cigarettes from0.02to0.06mg, also higher than that of foreignfamous cigarette0.06to0.6mg...
