With the development of coal mining roadway tunneling technology, it has been an increasingly wide application of boom-type roadheader in underground drivage. Currently, unmanned, roboticized and intelligentized tunneling system is becoming the study direction for both domestic and overseas experts. Therefore, the paper also focuses on this orientation, and studies on Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) applied in road header remote monitoring system. The research starts at how to realize the machine remote monitoring, and the main content emphasizes the key technologies in researching process, which involves posture measurement, fault detection, and WSN formation. The research work on these key points contains roadheader modeling and model simplification, posture measuring using coordinates transformation in Strap-down Inertial Navigation System(SINS), sensor selection, and monitoring system hardware design. To design the hardware system, the paper analyzes the current system used in mining, and completes the circuit design of different functional modules including major node, normal node and CAN bus. The major node is based on MSP430F149+CC2420radio frequency (rf) chip, while the normal node consists of CC2430and other basic elements. Finally, we test the system at the laboratory. The results prove the feasibility of the system and the superiority of the algorithm.
