| In this work, poly(methyl methacrylate-co-maleic anhydride) copolymer was synthesized by solution polymerization with BPO as initiator. The efffect of ratio of monomer, dosage of initiator, reaction temperature and reaction time was investigated. The optimal conditions were as follows:n(MMA):n(MAH)=1:1, the amount of BPO was0.4%, the reaction temperature was80℃and the reaction time was8hours. The structure and thermal property of the copolymer were characterized by Fourier transforms infrared spectroscopy(FTIR),nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy(1H-NMR),thermogravimetry(TG), differential scanning calorimetry,respectively.By multicomponent mechanical blending technology, water swellable rubber were prepared through choosing CPE rubber and crosslinking poly(sodium acrylate) as chief materials, poly(methyl methacrylate-co-maleic anhydride) copolymer as compatibilizer,polyethylene glycol(PEG-1000) as water absorbent accelerant. And the optimum formulation has been worked out through the orthogonal experiments, the optimum formulation is CPE,100phr; DCP,3phr; TAIC,1.8phr; PNaAA,40phr; Fumed silica,40phr; P(MMA-co-MAH),5phr; MgO,10phr; DOP,10phr; PEG-1000,10phr; Stearic acid,2phr; antiager,1phr.The WSR prepared under optimal conditions gave the best absorption of300%sample in distilled water and good mechanical properties.Then, according to the optimum formulation,the influence of rotor speed, mixing temperature and mixing time to the mechanical properties of the WSR was investigated, and the optimum mixing parameters in a Haake rheometer were rotor speed at60r/min, mixing temperature at135℃, and mixing time at5min.The effect of the vulcanizing agent, the water-absorbing resin, the fillers,the compatibilizer on the physical properties of fluorinated rubber was mainly investigated. The results show that:the addition of appropriate amount of DCP could improve the tensile strength and decrease the rate of mass loss. The degree of equilibrium swelling, the water absorbing speed, the weight loss ratio increased with increasing amounts of water-absorbent resin,and the tensile strength,the breaking elongation rate decreased. Fumed silica was the better filler for WSR,which could improve water-absorbent properties and mechanical properties. The compatibility of CPE and water absorbent resin with compatilizer P(MMA-co-MAH) was improved, and water absorbent properties and mechanical properties were promoted. The difference is obvious between the SEM photographs of WSRs with and without P(MMA-co-MAH), which could prove the compatibilized effects in the blending system. |
