Contra-rotating fan has a simple structure as the fan is connected with motordirectly and no guide blade. It can achieve a higher efficiency with a significantpressure coefficient compared with other old-style machines. However, therequirements to operating environment for contra-rotating fan are more and morecomplicated with the development of coal mining in China. Long-distanceblowing-in is often required. Hence a higher lever to design and develop acontra-rotating fan is needed to be researched.In this paper, a counter-rotating axial fan FBDCZNo14is used as a model tobe numerically simulated with the assistance of FLUENT software. Thesimulated model is built according to the data drawing supplied by manufacturerand it is simulated by inlet velocity and inlet pressure. The inner fieldperformance is obtained according to figure from FLUENT. The curve from theCFD software FLUENT simulation is figured out and it has the same trend withthe data supplied from manufacturer. It indicates that the result of the numericalsimulated analysis is capable of reflecting the inner environment of the fan. Thensimulation of complicated situation is researched in this paper. Besides, variousblade angles have been studied and results of three different angles comes out.The effects on inner field performance by different speed of fan are analysed.The conclusion from this paper supplies theoretical supporting to design andoptimization of novel contra-rotating fan.
