As a reinforcing fiber of advanced composite materials, Carbon fiber is with superior performance and has a wide range of applications in the areas of military and civilian industry. Each link of the preparation of carbon fiber are affected by a number of technological factors. Using main quality indicators of carbon fiber and the influence of the factors of production monitoring data to establish intelligent optimization model that can reflect the product performance and corresponding production conditions has important significance to the production of high-performance carbon fiber. The traditional control method is difficult to deal with large delay, nonlinear and complex industrial process control. As a data-driven algorithm, model-free adaptive control does not depend on the mathematical model of controlled object and just uses the input and output data to realize the control complex objects.First, model-free adaptive control method is studied, including the control law and parameter identification algorithm, designing model-free adaptive controllers and carrying on the simulation in Matlab environment, and analysising the performance of model free adaptive control method compared with simulation results of PID control method. Then, the development process of the simulation module for model-free adaptive control is given in detail on the Simulink platform of Matlab.Secondly, based on the regulation principle of adrenal hormone in neuroendocrine system, a novel intelligent model free adaptive controller (IMFAC) is proposed in the paper and a novel method for the adjustment of the control parameters is presented with a simulation of IMFAC in Matlab environment The performance of Model-free adaptive controllers is affected by the control parameters and using intelligent methods to realize the real-time setting of control parameters has an important significance. Control principles of adrenal hormone in neuroendocrine system are widely used in the design of intelligent controller in order to realize the adjustment and optimization of control parameters.Finally, an intelligent model-free adaptive control system of two inpust and two outputs is studied in this paper and it is applied to the steam drafting process of carbon fiber. A control system of two inputs and two outputs for humidity and pressure is built and the simulation experiment of the system is carried on in the Matlab environment.
