Although the polypropylene fiber applications of field is widespread, Polypropyleneappling to making fiber and microporous membrane is limited because it is bad property ofmoisture absorption, difficult in staining and easy with static characteristic. In order to usingfor high-performance fiber and hydrophilic film its hydrophilic must be modified.This research based on the modified method of hydrophobic organic polymer materials,combined chemical modified method with physical modified method, blended thepolypropylene(PP) the Ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer(EVA) and the alkaline solubilitypolyester(COP) and spinninged hollow fiber, and then maked the mellow alkali treatment tohollow fiber, obtains the hollow Porous high-hydrophilic fiber. PP blend fiber is given thenew shape and structure, improving its hydrophilicity. The concrete ways and results of thestudy were as follows:(1)Adopt direct melt blend for PP/EVA/COP composite material’s preparation andperformance attribute, mainly measure its rheological property and explore process conditionsand formulations.(2)Preparation of hollow polypropylene fiber:the hollow polypropylene fiber wasprepared by using the different proportion of PP/EVA/COP as raw materials with hollowspinneret.(3)The mellow alkali treatment to hollow fiber, obtained the hollow Poroushigh-hydrophilic fiber and explored the best process conditions. The process was simple andeasy.(4)Characterization of polypropylene hollow porous fiber structure and properties: thedegree of hollow microcosmic morphology was characterized by using polarizing Microscope,and mechanical properties of hollow porous polypropylene was tested by using tensile teste.(5)Water retention, moisture regain of hollow porous polypropylene fiber was tested andcomposite properties was characterized at room temperature.The results show that: blends appeared shear-thinning phenomenon, and non-neunoian index n was less than1. The melt exhibited the characteristics of pseudoplastic fluid. Theapparent viscosity of blends decreased firstly and then increased with the increasing of thecontent of EVA. The apparent viscosity of blends increased firstly and then decreased withthe increasing of the content of COP, which decreased with temperature increaseing. With thecontent of COP or the content of EVA increasing, the deweighting ratio basically increased ontrend. But when the PP/EVA/COP was76:15:9, the deweighting ratio happened break, andappeared max. In the mass, the temperature of mellow alkali the most influence thedeweighting ratio. The grooved morphology appeared on the surface of the blend fiber aftertreatment. After the treatment the hydrophile can have significantly improvement, but themechanical properties decreased.
