UV absorbers are widely used in sunscreen cosmetics and they have certain toxical effecton human health. Pepele pay attention to the cosmetics safety issue produced by abovementioned more and more. In this study, there have a study on the determination method ofUV absorbers in sunscreen cosmetics by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)and high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(HPLC-MS/MS)technology respectively. The result show that the method could satisfy the relativeinternational detection demand perfectly.The research consists of two parts.Part one, established a method to detect the12UV absorbers in sunscreen cosmetics byHigh performance liquid chromatography. The samples were extracted withmethanol-ethanol-water, isolated by a Waters Symmetryshield.C18Liquid Chromatographiccolumn(250mm×4.6mm,5μm)with a mobile phase consist of methanol-water and detedtedat wavelength of310nm by UltraViolet detector. The research results indicatied that thelowest limit of detection (LOD) are4~25μg/kg for12UV absorbers. And the averagerecoveries UV absorbers ranged from87.36%~97.44%and the relative standard deviation(RSD)of them were3.30﹪~7.84﹪respectivelyPart two, established a method to simultaneous detect the UV absorbers in sunscreencosmetics by liquid chromatography mass spectrometry. The samples were extracted withmethanol-ethanol-water, isolated by a Cosmosil5C18-AR-Ⅱ Liquid Chromatographiccolumn(15mm×4.6mm,5μm)with a mobile phase consist of methanol–water containing0.1%formic acid. The elute was separated by liquid chromatography and determined with themultiple reaction monitoring mode by mass spectometry. The research results indicatied thatthe lowest limit of detection (LOD) are4~10μg/kg for12UV absorbers the averagerecoveries11UV absorbers from87.38%~97.90%, the relative standard deviation(RSD)of them was3.18﹪~9.81﹪.Institute for establishment of the above-mentioned method is simple, rapid, high sensitivity, good reproducibility and other characteristics, detection limit, recovery, precisionand other technical indicators to meet the domestic and UV absorbers for sunscreen cosmeticstesting the requirements for UV absorbers in sunscreen cosmetics testing, monitoring andconfirmation.
