In nature, the existence of membrane is broad and long-lasting,especially in vivo.It is closely related to the origin of life and life activties, and is the foundation of all life activities. The processes of membrane play important roles both in nature and in modern economic developments. The membrane still does not have an accurate and complete definition. Generalized membrane is a barrier which separates two phase and has selective transportation ability. It delivers of various chemical substances in specific restrictions.Different membranes have different structure and functions. The water treatment membrane mentioned in this article is a porous material which has selective separation function. The using of this property to achieve the separation, purification and concentration of the different components in sewage is called Membrane separation. In this article, the surface morphology of the water treatment membrane was scanned by atomic force microscope. According to the roughness analysis, the particle size cumulative distribution analysis and particle height cumulative distribution analysis, we get the apparent features and molecular structural characteristics of the water treatment membrane, and so we can do further analysis of the nature and characteristics of the water treatment membranes from the perspective of molecular structure. Viscous force curve of the water treatment membranes were detected simultaneous under different conditions, Statistical distribution and Lorentz function fitting were used to analysis the measured viscous force data. After comparing the quantitative analysis data, we can get the effect on the viscous force with different modification liquid on water treatment membranes. At the same time we can get the level of water treatment membrane fouling resistance on a variety of liquids, and avoid the losses brought by the improper operations in the actual industrial production.Using of atomic force microscopy can not only study the fouling mechanism of water treatment membrane in-depth to improve the preparation of water treatment membrane processes, but also can explore more effective and simple methods to control and mitigate the occurrence and development of membrane fouling, enhance the application of water treatment membrane materials and water treatment membrane components, and do further development of long life, good strength, high anti-pollution, and low prices membrane materials.
