With the purpose of researching and developing vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate blending resin, Technology center and specialty resin plant technicians of Shanghai chlor-alkali chemical company began the research with characters of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate blending resin, combining with its history and the social background. Based on the previous blending resin production technology,we took advantage of suspension polymerization process and10L polymerization reactor.First, our project team confirmed the influence of polymerization terminator pressure drop and dispersant choose to homopolymerize blending resin. Based on the fundamental research, we made further studies of amount of vinyl acetate content, amount of dispersant, polymerization temperature and related influencing factors in the process of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate copolymer reaction. Finally, we determined the effects of each factor to the content of vinyl acetate, polymerization degree, particle size and distribution, and oil absorption of vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate blending resin. The studies show that, at the polymerization temperature of60.5℃,with the dispersant formulation in proportions of0.72%/0.54%/0.2%/0.4%(gelatin/E50/CD266/hexadecanol), the vinyl chloride-vinyl acetate blending resin has consistent quality, meets the requirements of the project, equals to the same level of imports of resin SA1062/7.
