A new wastewater treatment method, catalytic hydrodeclorinate using formic acid as a hydrogen source, is developed to quickly remove toxic chlorinated compounds in groundwater. A series of Pd catalysts with different supports were prepared, and the best support is mesoporous silica MCM-41. The composition of the catalyst was optimized by preparing different laoding amount of Pd. Several factors, such as reaction temperature, catalyst concentration, TCE initial concentration and formic acid initial concentration, were thoroughly investigated; meanwhile, the reaction conditions were optimized as well. All catalysts were characterized using multi techniques, such as XRD, TEM to explore the structure-activity relationship of the catalyst. The kinetics of Pd/MCM-41hydrodechlorination was measured to rationalize the mechanism. |
