| COREX is one of the leading technologies for metallurgical industry, which is the development and revolution of traditional blast furnace iron making process. DRI distributor is one of the key equipments of COREX, it optimizes the material distribution for Gas-furnace and influences the furnace condition can do. Facing the foreign technology embargo it is important to develop the manufacturing technology of DRI distributor to reduce cost.The main purpose of this study is to develop an DRI distributor with long service life in COREX process in Baosteel. Because the distributor is processed by use of plasma arc surfacing and there is no suitable plasma arc welder in our country. Therefore a plasma arc surfacing equipment is developed according to the demand in DRI distributor process.The Ni based alloy powder with60%WC was deposited on the surface of15CrMo by plasma arc surfacing. When the powder feed rate is3.0kg/h, transferred arc current is200A, arc voltage is28V, welding width is20mm, moving speed is130mm/min, ionized gas flow is4.2L/min, shielding gas flow is16.5L/min, rate of powder carry gas is2.3L/min, Rockwell hardness of the layer can achieve50which is equal with the imported material. And the abrasive wear property at600℃is better than the imported material.Processing map of the DRI distributor was designed and it was assembled. Rotary sealing was used in the distributor and the mechanical equipment was improved. Application of the DRI distributor in Baosteel shows that the distributor can satisfy the process demand and marked economic benefit can be achieved. Service life of the DRI distributor was examined and the experience in develop the distributor was concluded. |
