As an essential component of underground mine, sinking and driving engineering, which is indispensable during the entire productive process, serves as the foundation of mining production. Design based on the software in sinking and driving engineering boosts the working efficiency considerably. The challenge of data sharing among mines arises, due to the diversity in format of data organization of software applied in mining industry. Therefore, the standardized data conversion, based on the unified standard, could boost the effectiveness and efficiency of the design work in sinking and driving engineering, and improve the mine safety as well.Based on practical requirement of the design work in sinking and driving engineering, this study aimed for the achievement of the reduction of information loss during the data exchange process on the foundation of systematic analysis of the present situation in the data conversion software. The principal research contents are as follows:(1) Data import and export. The data was imported according to the requirements of the design work in sinking and driving engineering. On the other hand, the data was exported as graphic in the form of DXF or stored in database by ADO, which provides support for the following mine laneway modeling.(2) Design and Development of special linear and filling pattern. The system applies the definition methods of linear and filling pattern from AutoCAD and is capable of the linear design thereby meeting the demand of the design work in sinking and driving engineering. Furthermore, the system developed the functions of the linear and filling pattern, which is able to design the linear and filling pattern of the mine maps, achieving interaction with AutoCAD.(3) The system is capable of organizing layer, color, text style, etc. reasonably, and adding grid and drawing label for the map, which improves the function of draw and design considerably.(4) Applying Visual C++as development tool, this paper explored data exchange module, and was integrated into the software platform of the research community, which achieved the preliminary application in mine industry.
