Rare earth fluoride is an excellent host material, but due to the low quantum yield of Rare earth fluoride, it is not satisfactory for practical application. Recently, some investigators have reported that the fluorescence of RE-based luminescent materials can be altered by the presence of noble metal with the property of surface plasmon resonance. In this thesis, a series of core-shell structure Au@SiO2@YF3:Tb3+Au@SiO2@YF3:Ce3+,Tb3+, Au@SiO2@YF3:Yb3+,Er3+luminescence nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by direct precipitation method. The structure and luminescence properties of the samples were characterized by XRD, TEM, FTIR, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra. The distance between Au nanoparticles and YF3nanoparticles was changed by adjusted the thickness of SiO2, Then the luminescence intensities of the core-shell strucrure nanoparticles would change. All the experiments indicate that the presence of Au nanospheres can enhance the fluorescence intensity of Rare earth fluoride. The effect of enhancement is depended on SiO2shell thickness. When the SiO2shell thickness is25nm, the luminescence intensities of core-shell samples are the best.
