With the rapid development of garment industry in China, qualityrequirements of the lining fabric are gradually improved. To meet therequirements of the garment formability, the lining fabric should have goodsoftness and fully fitting, smaller resistance for putting on or taking off, as wellas better slippage resistance, which can make the fabric stable and durable at theseam even applied force. As a result, the fabric structure optimistically design isan important way to improve the fabric quality.In this study, the impact of fabric structures on fabric mechanic properties isdiscussed, which includes the softness, shearing and slippage resistance offabric. Due to the limited fabric specimen with different specifications in marketproducts, the heat setting and soda weight reduction is applied on the specimento acquire some different fabric structures, which account for the physical andchemical process will have a significant effect on the polyester filament fabricstructure.The treatment conditions for the specimen, such as heat and humid, tension,and NaOH, will have a great influence on the fabric structure, which will variedin a range. The fabric density and cover factor will increase and the fabric willbecome compact in the heat setting. While the yarn density will reduce, the yarnbecome smoother and the fabric become loose in the weight reduction process.The different yarn density, fabric density and cover factor can be obtained by thedifferent treatment conditions.The mechanical property tests of samples with different fabric structures areconducted by the Fast fabric style, Instron tensile strength tester to obtain aSeries of mechanical property parameters including fabric bending, shearing and slippage resistance. The influence of fabric structure on the mechanical propertyis analyzed by the mathematical statistics. It is found that the fabric slippageresistance with the fabric density and cover factor increasing and decrease withthe yarn density reduction. The yarn density is the dependent variables for thefabric bending rigidity and shearing rigidity, while the fabric density is the keyfactor for the fabric slippage resistance.To analyze the relationship between the fabric structures and the bending,shearing and slippage resistance, the BP Neural Network with three layers ismodeling, which meets the goal performance after training. Using this model theprediction error is little, which can provide some guiding for the fabric structuredesign.
