The author thinks that the patterns with regional and cultural characteristics can be abstracted, the essence and symbols can be tken and fully used, which has practical value tor fashion pattern innovation and profound significance to the cultural inheritance.The purpose of this thesis is digging the source of Chinese apparel products’innovation and design. In order to absorb nutrients and improve the modern fashion design level from the minority clothing patternsculture to to, this paper mainly studies the following fourparts:(1)the feature analysis and making methods of Chinese minority clothing characteristics and its patterns. In order to understand the Manchu dress pattern’s survival and the development environment, other minoruty culture’s effects on Manchu dress patterns, first sorts out the history of Chinese typical minority costume designs, starting from the history and development process of Chinese monority costume designs, refining out of their artistic characteristics, spiritual connotation, making methods and aesthetic values, extracts the different and same points from different symbol language of the different ethnic groups. elaborates the application actuality of minority costume patterns elements in the modern fashion.(2) the study of traditional Manchu dress patterns. This thesis mainly studies the pattern features of Manchu dress culture, constitution form and color, pattern making method etc. Through the analysis of the Manchu specific traditional dress patterns and shape connotation, a number of the patterns elements were found; the severalcommon colors in Manchu traditional dress were extracted, Manchu dress patterns in modern fashion design basic color were found, therefore solving the fusion point between the Manchu traditional patterns and modern fashion patterns.(3) Integrating and innovation of Manchu traditional dress patterns and the modern patterns. Combining the analysis of Manchu cultural elements and modern creative thinking and design methods, designing10the fashion designs minority characteristics and the modern styles, and designing for a most suitable T-shir or leisure coat style for every pattern for trial. By combining theory with experiments, the method of printing the Manchu style patterns on different fabrics.(4) Analysis of product promotion effect. Mainly through the market to verify the results, finding the direction to improve design. The author designed10Manchu style patterns and fashion, each triying out100clothes, sold in2stores, the statistics of1-month sale quanttity in the shops, only to find every style has its lover, however, the sales performance of10styles is different. Peony and lotus patterns, eagle tattoo dress sell better, these patterns have strong Manchu characteristics, the sun and moon patterns and peony patterns sell best, one taking traditional Manchu cloth as the design element, another taking shaman fashion pattern as the design element with modern creative thinking, making the patterns with both traditional implication and fashion style, which also may be the main factor to attract customers to buy.
