APG0810has the nature of non-ionic and anionic surface active agent, it is non-toxicthe price is lower than polymerization emulsifier, and can replace the polyoxyethylenealkylphenol ether emulsifier (APEO) particularly OP-10in emulsion polymerization.FF6M is the sodium salt of an organic sulfinic acid derivative, it can be used as thereducing agent and can be used with any oxidizing agent class emulsifier to constitute aredox initiator system. It can improve monomer conversion in emulsion polymerizationand reduce the latex’s VOC (volatile organic compound) content. Application of APG0810and FF6M in acrylic emulsion polymerization and the preparation of waterborne woodcoatings have a certain economic value and scientific significance.The main research contents and results are as follows:(1)FF6M and APS compose oxidation redox initiator system, it’s found that theoptimum mass ratio of FF6M: APS=1:2and the best PH range of polymerization processis between4-6; The initiator temperature interval is from40℃to-70℃and the optimalinitiation temperature interval is from60℃to-65℃, when the temperature is higherthan70℃FF6M starts to decompose; The relationship between the agent FF6Mconcentration [C (I)] and polymerization rate Rp is Rpα [c (I)]1.4, the reaction activationenergy (Ea) of polymerization initiation stage is56.4kJ/mol.(2) There’s a good effect when APG0810is applied in the pre-emulsified acrylicmonomers. Stabilization time of the pre-emulsion when used in an amount of0.7wt%ofthe monomer is more than270min and it can meet the requirement of the emulsionpolymerization. The relationship between polymerization rate(Rp) and APG0810concentration([S]) is Rpα[S]0.73; The relationship between polymerization rate(Rp) andinitiator concentration [I] is Rpα[I]1.04; The apparent activation energy of thepolymerization reaction is82.72KJ/mol.(3) When apply APG0810in MMA/BA/2-EHA/EGDMA/HPA’s emulsionpolymerization it is found that the monomer pre-emulsion stability time is more than240min when the amount of APG0810is0.80wt%-1.50wt%; The gel ratio is all lessthan3.00wt%and the polymerization stability is good; When the amount of APG0810is 1.30wt%-1.50wt%, the reaction temperature is at85℃to-88℃, the latex has goodstability, viscosity, freeze-thaw stability and the surface tension have little change when theamount of emulsifier increase; When APG0810content is between0.80wt%-1.30wt%,with the increase of the amount of emulsifier, water resistance of coating deteriorates, glossand elongation is good; When the temperature is at85℃-88℃, all the character of thefilm is at a good level. When the amount of APG0810is in0.80wt%-1.50wt%, thereaction temperature is at85℃to-88℃and the monomer addition rate is at0.60-1.00ml/min, good emulsion properties and film properties can be obtained, the coatinggloss is more than79, the elongation at break is more than85.00%, adhesion is at1brand,pencil hardness is2B, impact resistance is more than50kg cm.(4) APG0810can be used in acrylic emulsion polymerization containing functionalmonomers HPA, HEMA and GMA and there is certain regularity. Good performance latexcan be obtained when the GMA is used in an amount of1.00wt%; AA will make the APG0810decompose and gel in the application process, and it can be changed when add in theaqueous ammonia but the amount is not more than0.4wt%. The performance of the latex isbetter when the amount of AA is0.3wt%. The emulsion polymerization would gel becauseof intramolecular crosslinking when AA and GMA are added at the same time.(5) Water-based wood coatings were prepared by homemade pure acrylic blend latex,paint preparation of paint and the relationship between the amount of titanium dioxide andgloss and opacity were studied. It’s found that: The color of paint will change during thedrying process; titanium dioxide’s CPVC=40%; the amount of titanium dioxideinfluences the coating hiding power and gloss.
