High speed cutting is the emerging technology in21st century, which hasexcellent characteristics: high speed, high efficiency, high precision, and it has beenwidely used in Aeronautics&Astronautics industry and die industry. The extensionof the high speed cutting technology has put forward higher requirement to machinetool, cutting tool, tool path, cutting parameters, especially when high speed cuttingautomobile panel hardened steel mold, its type surface complex and high hardnesswill make the cutting process out of stability, and it will reduce the quality ofprocessed surface and the processing efficiency. So, it is a problem to be resolvedthat ensure high efficiency, stable and high surface quality when processing the carhardened steel mold. this paper proposed cutting tool trajectory control method, andimplemented that the trajectory of the high speedball-end milling cutter during theprocessing can being controlled, and ensuring the high efficiency, stable cutting ofthe high speed milling cutter. The main research contents.For high speed ball-end milling cutter cutting3d complex curved surface parts,analyzed the cutter location point of the ball-end milling cutter, proposed the way tofind out the trajectory of the cutter during the cutting; Through the description ofmoving posture of the ball-end cutter,ensuring the feasible region for the high speedball-end milling cutter, build a cutting layer parameters model for the high-speedball-end milling cutter, revealed the influence of the trajectory of the cutter to thethickness of cutting layer of the high speed ball-end milling cutter.Based on the adiabatic shearing happened on cutting hardened steel used byhigh speed ball-end milling cutter and the analysis of the stress to the milling cutterduring the cutting process, setting a model of minimum thickness of milling cutterand got the minimum thickness of cutting that will produce scraps when cut hardened steel used by high speed ball-end milling cutter. Through the analysis on theparameters of cutting layer of the high speed ball-end milling cutter, established themodel of the cutting force of the high-speed ball milling cutter and the residualheight of the processed surface, connecting the experiment on high speed milling ofhardened steel, got the influence of the cutting parameters on cutting force,temperature and processed cutting quality during the high speed milling of hardenedsteel.Using the method of system explain structure model, this paper reveals thehierarchical structure of the cutting track control variables of the cutter when millingthe hardened steel by high speed milling, proposed cutting tool path evaluation andselection method, through high speed milling hardened steel mold experiment,proving the validity of related model and method.
