Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy is an analysis technology, it throughs the atomicemission spectrum data to obtain the samples of the the ingredients and contents thereof. Itdoesn’t need complicated sample pretreatment process, suitable for the samples in all form, matrix and size, small damage to the sample, the consumption of the sample is low, simultaneousdetermination of multi elements, through the optical fiber transmission can realize remoteanalysis, real-time analysis, especially suitable for the analysis of light elements. The applicationrange is wide, involving Environmental testing, material composition, biomedical, identificationof cultural relics and other fields. This paper is the Pre-research work of the application of LIBSin the environmental geology the thesis is divided into three parts to study: the development ofinstrument. Influencing factors and quantitative analysis method According to the principle andcharacteristics of the laser induced plasma, analysis the affecting factors (laser systemparameters, gating parameters and analysis environment), puts forward the design scheme.Completed the design of LIBS system, optimized the key components, customized processed theparts, calculated the data, designed and integrated the system, and gradually improve. To achievethe best geometric configuration of the core components of the excitation source, optical system, detection system, successfully developed a multi-dimensional multi-view micro in situ laserinduced breakdown spectrometer system. Because there are many factors influencing the LIBSplasma spectral signal intensity, spectral data fluctuation, the quantitative analysis of theaccuracy is not high, hinders the further promotion of LIBS technology. In the paper, theresearch on some aspects of the signal response factors, instrument stability, Samplehomogeneity and sampling mode. When the laser energy is60mJ, the delay time of0.6μ s,integral time80μ s, fixed-point laser pulse accumulation number30, repetition frequency of1Hz, using9-point averaging sampling mode can effectively improve the accuracy of LIBSanalysis On this basis, further analysis of quantitative element, the Mg, Si, Al, Ca, Na, Li, K andother elements in the soil as the detecting objects, respectively used the external standardmethods and the internal standard method to establish the standard curve. Due to the influence of matrix effects, using the external standard method can get the distribution trend of Mg, Si, Ca,Na and K, but it does’t suitable for the determination of Al and Li. With Si as the internalstandard, except Li,the correlation coefficient of fitting curve of other elements were all above0.9. The LODs of Mg, Si, Al, Ca, Na, Li, K are0.011%,0.216%,0.254%,0.004%,0.002%,0.291μ g/g,0.020%. The research of the parper shows that LIBS can determination of multielements at the same time, can semi quantitative and quantitative analysis Mg, Si, Al, Ca, Na, Li,K in soil. Lay the foundation for the further application of LIBS in the field of environmentalgeology.
