China is a country with developed mining industry. There is a huge amount ofsolid waste in annual emissions and stockpile. Tailings from the exploitation ofmineral resources have become the most industrial solid waste in amount, about80%of total. Most tailings stored in the tailings dam by natural bulk method, not onlyoccupy land resources, but also pollute the surrounding environment. However,tailings is a relative concept, there is no tailings of no use. Under situation of theincreasingly tense on mineral resources, the rational development of tailings resourceshas great significance in socio-economic and ecological environment.Huaibei Liulou Copper-Iron (Gold) Mine located in Huaibei City, AnhuiProvince, which is the typical of small and medium sized polymetallic copper-ironmines in the middle and lower reaches of Changjiang River. All along, the presence ofsuch mines has the problem of low utilization and lack of ore using. Moreover, thesemines are generally located in the plain areas, which have developed economic, densepopulation, arable land tensions. Establish tailings dams for tailing deposited not onlyexpensive, but also likely to cause environmental pollution and ecological damage.Therefore, the comprehensive utilization for such mines tailings has greater and moreurgent practical significance.Based on the basic information and literature research method, Field surveys,experiments and results analysis, analyzed Liulou Copper-Iron (Gold) Mine tailingsphysical and chemical properties. According to the analysis, chose the method ofgravity separation on the reprocessing of Liulou Mine tailings. Through the analysisof physical and chemical properties on reprocessing ore concentrate and final tailings,carried out evaluation work on gravity reprocessing. According to the present data,combined with previous research of skarn tailings comprehensive utilization, LiulouMine tailings comprehensive utilization are also discussed, the main conclusions are:1. Because of the limits of beneficiation and the decline of ore selected stabilityin recent years, Liulou Mine tailings iron content increased year by year, especiallythe content of pyrite tailings occupy higher proportion of the total iron content of the tailings. It is of great significance to take the appropriate method for tailingsreprocessing.2. Tailings reprocessing test by gravity beneficiation, got50.11percent ironcontent of concentrate, iron comprehensive recovery rate of65%. Using gravityseparation method for the reprocessing of Liulou Mine tailings is feasible.3. For Liulou and the middle and lower reaches of Changjiang River skarn-typemulti-metal mine tailings, the whole use of the tailings is the key to the utilization.According to this type of mine tailings phase and chemical characteristics, the studieson tailings for building materials such as baking-free brick are available researchdirections.
