With the rapid development of automobiles, machinery and transport sector, and promotion from environmental policies and regulations, the tranditional mineral oil can not meet the increasing demand of lubrication performance. In consequence of its excellent viscosity-temperature performance, low temperature fluidity and oxidation stability, Poly-a-olefin(PAO) has been attracting popularity and is widely used in industrial manufacturing, transportation and other industries related to people’s livelihood. In this study, the oligomerization processes of coal-based olefins and mixed olefins were investigated. Meanwhile, the dechlorination process of PAO was also optimized. In addition, the study investigated the effect of several process parameters on the batch hydrogenation of PAO, the macrokinetics model equations of hydrogenation reaction were obtained through regression of experimental data.Experimental investigation of the oligomerization process conditions’influence on the performance of the product has been done, which showed that AICl3as catalyst, the optimal conditions respectively for coal-based olefins and mix olefins oligomerization are listed here:2.25w%/lw%AICl3,110℃/120℃reacting temperature,2h/lh reacting time,25w%n-decene:75w%n-dodecene only for mix olefins raw material. While use BF3/n-butanol composite catalyst, the optimal conditions for coal-based olefins oligomerization to PAO6is listed here:6L BF3/0.02mol n-butanol,25℃reacting temperature,2h reacting time.In order to reduce the chlorine content of PAO products, the dechloridation process through aromatic alkylation and antichlor treatment methods were also studied. Both two methods had well dechloridation performance. Under optimal conditions, the removal rates of chlorine were98%and89%, respectively. The chlorine content of320ppm PAO samples were reduced to6ppm and36ppm.The hydrorefining processes of PAO20and PAO100in batch reactor with nickel-based catalyst A were investigated. The macrokinetics model equations of hydrogenation reaction was established by analyzing the primary process parameters which determined the hydrogenation reaction rate. The regression results of experimental data show that the reaction order of different variables for hydrogenation of PAO20and PAO100are like these: about both0.700order on hydrogen gas pressure,0.471and0.636order on catalyst mass ratio, respectively, about both1.180order on olefin percentage of all olefins. The macro activation energy of PAO20and PAO100hydrogenation is10845J/mol and18226J/mol, respectively.
