According to the requirements of the textile ecology, the real ecological textiles should be safe to human body and environment. It means that the harmful material should be controlled in the range of safe to human body, and both textile production and processing process should be no pollution to environment, also the wastes are easy to be recycled or disposed by microbial decompose. But at present, few ecological textiles can completely conform to the standard of textile ecology. Most textiles only pay attention to the content of harmful substances, neglect the late recycling use as well as the energy conservation and emissions reduction in the process. Based on the trend, environmental protection material with biodegradability shows a broad application prospect. Both poly-lactic acid and ethyl lactate are nonpoisonous and harmless. They have biocompatibility, biodegradability and low environmental load. So far, poly-lactic acid has practical applications in medical treatment and biodegradable materials, also "green solvents" ethyl lactate is widely used in food and brewing industry. They are derived from renewable natural resources, so it has important significance to the sustainable development of human. It has a positive role for increasing development and application of this series of products to solve the long plagued problem, which can make the national economy sustainable development.According to the present research and application about poly-lactic acid and ethyl lactate, this topic innovatively attempted to use ethyl lactate as solvent of poly-lactic acid for the preparation of poly-lactic acid dispersion of ethyl lactate from the perspective of ecological textile. Then this dispersion can be used as modified materials to handle textile yarns and fabric, so textiles can combine with the advantages of poly-lactic acid. Eventually we expanded the application performance of textiles.First of all, we used ethyl lactate to make a certain concentration of poly-lactic acid dispersion. By testing the dispersion and the membrane which was formed at room temperature, we knew that poly-lactic acid dispersion of less than1%concentration had certain liquidity, also the membrane had a certain strength and water resistance.Then we used this poly-lactic acid dispersion of3%and7%concentration to dip common yarns. By testing roving adhesion force, yarn performance such as abrasion and hairiness, fracture strength, we knew that adhesion of polyester yarn was the best, yarn strength was improved significantly, abrasion resistance increased and hairiness number greatly reduced.Finally, we used this poly-lactic acid dispersion of3%,7%and10%to dip and roll polyester fabrics and cotton fabrics. By using scanning electron microscopy to observe the fabric morphology, and testing mechanics, air permeability, moisture permeability, wetting angle, drapability, we knew that the mechanical strength and wetting angle had increased, and permeability, moisture permeability, drapability had decreased.As a result, poly-lactic acid dispersion of ethyl lactate can be used as a treatment agent for yarns or fabrics. In addition to the ecological advantages, processing of yarn and fabric had great coating textile potential application.
