The lost foam casting is a near net shape casting technology, it has been hailed as the21st century “green casting engineering” for its many advantages and broad developmentprospects. Because of the existence of the bubble shape, the cavity is along with complexphysical and chemical phenomena in the process of liquid metal filling, which causesmany casting defects and seriously hinders the development of aluminum alloy lost foamcasting technology. Therefore, the photography method is used to study the influence oftechnological factors on the ADC12aluminum alloy filling process.The orthogonal experiment design method is used to study the technologicalparameters of ADC12aluminum alloy lost foam casting filling speed.The factors affectingthe filling speed of technology (vacuum degree, pouring temperature and metal static head,the size of the internal sprue, like thickness, coating layer thickness, shape density) need tobe screened by establishing the Linear regression equation. System test is Implemented asfor the fixed process factors. the effects of process parameters on the filling process wasstudied by changing the vacuum degree, pouring temperature and metal static head, thesize of the internal sprue, the process parameters of coating thickness. In addition, thedifferent ways of casting and sprue in effect is studied on the filling process.The experimental results showed that:(1) the degree of influence on the filling speedorder: vacuum degree> pouring temperature> the sprue height> the runner size>thickness of coating>layer thickness> shape appearance density.(2) the filling speedwith the increase of pouring temperature, the pouring temperature filling ability is best at760℃, filling speed slows down with continuing to improve the pouring temperature.(3)with one of the top casting sprue inside the type of gating system, side type gating systemand bottom gating system of average filling velocity. experimental results show that thetop note type gating system filling is faster than side note type gating system, the slowestis low type gating system.(4) using single runner in low injection type casting and sidenote type gating system smoothly during the filling process, top note volatile type gatingsystem; using double internal sprue step gating system smooth filling, top note type gatingsystem volatile during the filling process.
