With oil, natural gas and other non-renewable resources being consumed, thedevelopment and utilization of biomass was widely concerned. As a large agriculturalcountry, there are abundant straw and other agricultural waste in china, but most ofthem were burned, which cause a serious problem of wasting resources andenvironmental pollution. Cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin, as an importantcomponent of straw, are the largest resources of natural polymer. An efficient methodof extraction and application of straw, which is an important direction of developmentof lignocelluloses, should be established with good social and economic benefits. The perspective of each component of corn straw made full use were investigated.Firstly, all components of maize straw materials were determined in order tounderstand maize straw utilization of each component in the original. The results showthat maize straw cellulose content in the raw material is36%, hemicellulose content is23%, and the lignin content is15%. Maize straw hemicellulose in the main functioncan be used for the preparation of sugar, for example, xylose, and a lot of xyloseresidues are generated. Secondly, the use of xylose residues was studied. The residuescontent of straw xylose components is determined. The results shows that cellulose andlignin content in xylose residues are higher,58%and42%respectively. Theapplication of lignin as a natural macromolecular material has drawn the attention ofmany researchers. Thirdly, the application of lignin was investigated though strawlignin of xylose residues extracted. And then a large number of straw lignin residueswere produced. The results show that cellulose is the main content of lignin removalfrom residue and the content is80%through determination of components analysis. The ethanol is produced though cellulose saccharification and fermentation. Fourthly, the ethanol production of straw lignin removal from residue was studied.
