Honeycomb structure is an efficient bionic structure, which has light weight, high specific strength and high specific rigidity. Metal honeycomb structure is more resistant to shocks, high temperature, and is shock absorption, noise reduction and etc. It is widely used in aerospace, rail transportation and other fields. Based on the precisely elasto-plasticity molding method and combined with the poor plastic deformation ability at room temperature of Mg alloy, resulting to damage and crack easily, this passage has researched the springback and damage during the precisely molding process of Magnesium alloy strip. Then we have produced the regular honeycomb precursor gear rack and developed the equipment to produce the cell module.To study the law of bending springback and the feature of damage, Magnesium alloy plate and strip with different thickness are used to V-shaped bend in different punch radius and three-point bending in the test machine. The results were used to trial produce the precursor gear rack of Mg alloy. We developed the cellular module production machine and test the mechanical properties of cellular modules. The major findings of the research are as follows:In the same punch bending radius, the greater of the plates and strips thickness, the smaller of the rebound. When the thickness of the plate was same, the larger of the relative bending radius, the greater of the springback angle. The thin sheet was more affective than the thick plate.The microstructure of the three-point bending on AZ31Mg alloy shows that twinning played a major role during bending. The damage on the compressive side was more serious than the tensile side. The main crack appeared on the compression firstly. There had asymmetry apparently. The cracks on the compression was river-like and parallel to each other along the direction of bending displacement. With the increasing of strain, the macro-crack expanded, resulting to the fracture of the compression side.The flexural rigidity of KBM8Mg alloy was518MPa, the flection was16.1mm, the flexural modulus was21GPa; the flexural rigidity of AZ31Mg alloy was408MPa, the flection was8.9mm, the flexural modulus was30GPa. Compared KBM8and AZ31Mg alloy, KBM8had superior bending performance.The cellular module production equipments included the cutting machine, forming machine, automatic roll laminator cellular module mounting bracket and ect. The nominal compressive stress of Mg honeycomb structure made by the equipments was6.0MPa. The nominal compressive stress of Al honeycomb structure made by the equipments was 6.5MPa.
