For the diversity, heterogeneity and highly ingrate of various high-tech of CNC machine, this investigation was conducted to study the degradation mechanism of key components of CNC machine. The results gave the signal characteristics of high sensitivity and its data structure; in addition, it also developed the acquisition and processing technology of key components of CNC machine and built a fault feature database.Combined with the frequent failure of high-end CNC machine, this study established its performance degradation model, and improved fault warning and machine condition assessment theory, and developed the information retrieval module of the status when the CNC machine control system was running. This research established performance degradation model, explored the performance degradation law of key components of CNC machine, and built repair expert knowledge base.The’Fault Early Warning and diagnosis system of high-end CNC machine’, which was developed in this investigation, can realize online and remote automatic diagnostics and fault early warning of high-end CNC machine. The system has been applied in several CNC machine tools. The condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of the machine are both completed by computer automatically, which is more effective and accurate than the conventional method. The system can also provide handing methods at the same time by giving the ordering demand of the spare parts, which can shorten the equipment downtime effectively, reduced the difficulty of exclusion greatly, as a result, the efficiency of maintenance can be improved greatly. The system can effectively ensure the long-term, safe and reliable running of CNC machine, and provide plans for the repair or maintenance of CNC machine tools.
