Prepare the y-Fe2O3magnetic nanoparticles using chemical induced transition, ZnCl2was added during the preparation for surface treatment of the particle. The particles were characterized using vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM), X-ray diffraction (XRD). transmission electron microscope (TEM), high resolution transmission electron microscopy (HTEM), X-ray energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer (XPS). Experimental results show that the particles were γ-Fe2O3/ZnFe2O4magnetic composite nanoparticle wrapped by the chemical inert layer of FeCl3. The molar ratio, mass fraction and volume fraction of the phases in the particle were deduced by the results of EDX, XRD, XPS. The average density of particles were calculate by the volume fraction of the phase in the particle.Studied the modulation on magnetization and component of Zn-based y-Fe2O3magnetic nanoparticles by concentration of ZnCl2by adding different concentrations of the solution. Studied the influence of NaOH was added for the preparation of Zn modulation product by the addition the NaOH. Experimental results show that when the concentration of ZnCl2does not exceed2M, the composition of the particle was single, the particles were y-Fe2O3/ZnFe2O4composite magnetic nanoparticles wrapped by small amount of FeCl3.Carried out the synthesis of y-Fe2O3/ZnFe2O4composite magnetic nanoparticle ionic magnetic liquids using the synthesis method of ionic magnetic liquids. This proved that the composite nanoparticle was suitable for the synthesis of ferrofluids. Studied the magnetic properties of the ferrofluids.Using circularly polarized light as probing source, the magnetic dichroism and magnetic birefringence effect of the y-Fe2O3/ZnFe2O4based ferrofluids is studied.
